I decided to sign up with PT as I was unfit, unhealthy & had little confidence in myself. I had told myself for so long that my ‘diet would start on Monday’ but couldn’t hold myself accountable. I then signed up to climb Ben Nevis at night and knew I needed to do something.
Aside from Nevis, my goal was to gain confidence and feel better about myself again. I wanted to feel ‘fit’ & enjoy exercise again because I had become so lazy 😂
Binge eating/ secret eating was a huge issue. I had no routine, work meant I was cooking / eating late at nights & my lifestyle in terms of being out with friends & drinking was out of constant.
You’ve helped me understand and manage those struggles. It’s been as much of a mental/ emotional battle as it has a physical battle at times but it’s been so beneficial. You’ve helped me understand that I can do things in moderation, whilst still having fun and doing the things I enjoy but have shown me how to get the balance right. Even if you did it by slating my love for blue WKD 🥲😂. Seriously though, I know that these struggles will always be there but I’m much more prepped to deal with them.
I’ve learned how to look after myself physically and mentally. You’ve taught me to put myself first & to always ensure I have time to plan for myself and do the things I enjoy. You’ve taught me to enjoy exercise again & I’ve learned so much about nutrition & how to keep this balanced. I feel that I’ve learned the tools to be able to continue the journey and stay on track.
I had done most of the exercises before but I liked how we spoke through what I do/don’t like so my plan was made up entirely based on things I knew I would enjoy doing and so wouldn’t dread going to the gym. I loved the fact that each workout is personalised rather than a ‘standard’ programme.
I haven’t contributed to the group much, but I’ve found it so helpful to be part of. The recipes, the wins, the results really keep you going but it’s also nice to know that others are struggling too sometimes so you don’t feel alone.
I don’t think there’s anything I’ve not enjoyed. I enjoyed the client meet up at Balmedie, where there was no pressure to be the ‘fittest’ and the group stuck together. I’ve enjoyed your podcasts, the videos & the fact that you just make everything so easy and relatable. You tell us when you’ve messed up & are open about your own struggles which I’ve found made it easier to tell you when I’ve messed up too.
Genuinely, I can’t thank you enough. I’m leaving with a whole new perspective. It’s not always been easy & I’ve still a bit to go before I’ll be where I want to be but I have the right tools to be able to manage this!! I’m so grateful to you & Carla for your support.
